SISK ON BOARD AS CORPORATE SPONSOR FOR OPEN HOUSE DUBLIN 2020

John Sisk and Son, Ireland’s leading builder and contractor, are corporate sponsor for this year’s Open House Dublin. An initiative of the Irish Architecture Foundation, Open House Dublin will take place “online and onsite” from today, Thursday 8th to Sunday, 11th October 2020.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Tom Byrne, Head of Communications at Sisk, said: “John Sisk & Son is proud to be the corporate partner this year with the Open House Dublin Festival. Despite the challenges of Covid-19 we are keen to help share knowledge and information on some of the interesting and iconic buildings in Dublin that Sisk has been involved in, as part of this year’s festival.

“Sisk recently celebrated 160 years in business and over that time we have delivered some of the most well know landmarks in Dublin such as Liberty Hall, the Aviva Stadium, Luas Cross City, the Bord Gais Theatre, The National Convention Centre, Capital Dock and we are currently delivering a range of projects including new facilities at the TU Dublin Campus at Grangegorman.

“We celebrated our history with a social media campaign using #Sisk160 so check it out along with the activities of this year’s #OHD2020 and our posting content this week in conjunction with OHD.”

Open House Dublin is celebrating its 15th year in 2020 with highlights including:
The Big Debate, titled “Dublin’s Fair City”, with speakers including Lord Mayor of Dublin Hazel Chu, Liam Herrick, Executive Director of the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, and Ali Grehan, Dublin City Architect. The debate will kick off the weekend’s events and will be live-streamed on Thursday, 8th October;

A programme of events for children, including Minecraft challenges, and online workshops hosted by the Chester Beatty Library, Irish Museum of Modern Art, and Fighting Words, among others;
‘On-Site’ Architect film series – online tours of residential projects by a selection of Dublin’s architects.

Commenting on the support from Sisk, Nathalie Weadick, Director of the IAF said: “We are delighted and energised to have the support of Sisk for Open House Dublin. 2020 is a special year for the IAF marking our 15th anniversary. While this year’s programme is taking place in a much different environment to what we could have imagined at the outset of the year, we have worked hard to put together a programme of events that celebrates architecture and reflects the values of the Irish Architecture Foundation in 2020 and onwards. Thanks to the support of our corporate sponsor Sisk, we are delighted to be able to put together an exciting programme of events. It is a real indication that they back our vision and purpose.”
