The one of a kind in Ireland and the UK Bubble Domes at Finn Lough in Fermanagh give occupants a truly memorable experience under the stars with high end touches to boot. Located on a 45-acre peninsula in Fermanagh and featuring 180 Degree transparent walls, the domes offer dramatic views of the forest as well as bespoke Scandinavian-inspired interiors.
Designed in conjunction with Belleek’s Ronan Lowery, the Bubble Domes are one of four accommodation types offered by the family-run resort. The futuristic domes, which sleep two, are perfect as a romantic getaway and digital detox destination as the domes do not have Wi-Fi or mobile phone service. Kept inflated with an air pressure system, each dome features underfloor heating, a four-poster bed, Nespresso coffee machine, and a smaller annex bubble housing the ensuite bathroom.
There is even a little telescope should occupants fancy a closer look at the constellations above their heads.
The Bubble Dome story is one of bringing guests ever closer to nature, away from the crowds, away from screens and away from their everyday selves. The intention is to break down boundaries of a conventional room, whilst still maintaining a level of comfort and contemporary design. The result was a first prototype dome, combining local craftsman and material with a unique 180-degree transparent window to the world.
Since then the Domes have adapted and improved, continuously prototyping and testing to rapidly make tangible improvements that improve the experience and delight guests. Key features include Ferrari Fabrics, engineered for all environments and heat sealed joints for a water tight seal. There is a reinforced four poster bed combining strength and craft and an engineered wood floor with electric heating. The Domes include a fully fitted aroca wood panelled bathroom and rain shower. There is a self-closing door with Airlock Seal.
There a different types of Bubble Domes: the Forest Domes feature a single 5-meter bubble, the Premium Domes consist of two large domes giving considerably more space and offering the added luxury of a freestanding stone-cast bath overlooking the forest, plus other premium amenities like a record player with vinyls.
The 75 acre peninsula resort also offers a range of accommodation including large three bedroom waterside cottages and lakeside lodges. The Waterside Lodges sleep six people and come complete with a private deck and barbecue area overlooking the lake. The Lodges offer a high design finish set amongst our unspoiled surroundings; with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and lounge with wood burning stove and complimentary Wi-Fi. The lodge is laid out over four half levels to maximise the natural light and panoramic views.
